Turkey Potatoes
A hearty and flavorful baked dish combining tender turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, crispy bacon, and savory spices, perfect for comforting family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. lean ground turkey ⓘ
- 4 large baking potatoes ⓘ
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion ⓘ
- 1/2 c. chopped sweet green pepper ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. minced fresh garlic ⓘ
- 3/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne ⓘ
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1/2 c. milk ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. sour cream ⓘ
- 6 slices bacon ⓘ
- 1 tsp. paprika ⓘ
Instructions
- Bake the potatoes until tender.
- Meanwhile, sauté the ground turkey until cooked through.
- Add chopped onion, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, cayenne, and salt to the turkey. Saute for 3 to 5 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Remove from heat.
- Cut the tops off the baked potatoes and scoop out the cooked potato flesh, reserving the shells.
- Combine the scooped-out potatoes with milk and sour cream. Whip until smooth.
- Spoon one-fourth of the turkey mixture into each potato shell.
- Top each stuffed potato with whipped potatoes.
- Sprinkle crumbled bacon and paprika over the top.
- Bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes until hot and lightly browned.
