Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Bring margarine, water, and shortening to a boil.
  2. Pour the boiling mixture over the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla to the mixture.
  4. Mix well until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased and floured sheet cake pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
