Tips & Substitutions
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the vegetable mixture. You can substitute the fat-free chicken broth with vegetable broth for a vegetarian version. If you don't have wonton skins, dumpling wrappers work as a great alternative. Make sure to seal the edges tightly to prevent any filling from leaking during cooking.
Serving Suggestions
Serve these vegetable pot stickers with a side of soy sauce or a homemade dipping sauce made of soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil. They pair beautifully with Crunchy Chinese Salad for a refreshing contrast. For a complete meal, consider serving them alongside Moo Goo Gai Pan(Chicken With Mushrooms And Pea Pods) or any of your favorite Chinese recipes.
Storage & Reheating
Store leftover pot stickers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, pan-fry them over medium heat with a splash of water to steam and crisp up the bottoms again. Alternatively, you can microwave them with a damp paper towel for about 1-2 minutes until heated through.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I freeze the pot stickers before cooking?
Yes, you can freeze the uncooked pot stickers. Arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet until frozen, then transfer them to a freezer bag. When ready to cook, you can steam or pan-fry them from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
What can I use instead of dark sesame oil?
If you don't have dark sesame oil, you can use regular sesame oil or even a neutral oil like canola or vegetable oil. However, keep in mind that dark sesame oil has a richer flavor, so you may want to add a bit of toasted sesame seeds for extra taste.
How can I ensure the pot stickers don't stick to the skillet?
Using a nonstick skillet is key to preventing sticking. Additionally, ensure the pan is adequately heated before adding the pot stickers and use a bit of cooking spray or oil. If necessary, gently shake the skillet during cooking to loosen any stuck pot stickers.
