Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
  • 3 cups thinly sliced Vidalia onions
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • bacon slices

Instructions

  1. Cook sliced Vidalia onions in melted butter until lightly browned.
  2. Spoon the cooked onions into the baked pie shell.
  3. Add milk and 1 1/4 cups sour cream to the onions.
  4. Mix flour with 1/4 cup sour cream and salt to form a smooth mixture.
  5. Combine this mixture with well-beaten eggs.
  6. Pour the egg-flour mixture over the onion filling in the pie shell.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F for 30 minutes or until the filling is firm in the center.
  8. Garnish with crisp fried bacon slices before serving.
