Ingredients

  • 10 cups white bread cubes
  • 1 1/3 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Cut or tear bread into 1/2-inch cubes or crumbs.
  2. Toss bread cubes with chopped walnuts, salt, poultry seasoning, pepper, chopped celery, and chopped parsley.
  3. Saute chopped onion in margarine or butter until translucent.
  4. Add sautéed onion to the bread mixture and mix well.
  5. Add water gradually to moisten the mixture until it holds together when pressed in hands.
  6. Firmly press the mixture into 2-inch balls and place on an oiled baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 20 to 25 minutes until crisp and brown.
