Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 cups walnuts

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs and molasses; mix well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, ginger) and mix into wet mixture.
  4. Stir in rolled oats and chopped walnuts.
  5. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
  7. Let cookies stand in pan for 5 minutes before removing.
