Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup Crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 1/4 cups sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Cream together the sugar and Crisco.
  2. Add eggs, vanilla, and milk; mix thoroughly.
  3. Blend in sifted flour, soda, cocoa, and cream of tartar.
  4. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
  6. Put two cookies together with filling.
