Ingredients
- 1/2 cup whole bran cereal, coarsely crushed ⓘ
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar ⓘ
- 1 package active dry yeast ⓘ
- 1/2 cup warm water (110 to 115 degrees) ⓘ
- 1 egg ⓘ
- 1 1/2 cups flour ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil ⓘ
- 1 cup chopped pecans ⓘ
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar ⓘ
- 1/4 cup maple flavored syrup ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine the crushed whole bran cereal, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast in a bowl.
- Stir in warm water (110~ to 115~). Let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add the egg, 1/2 cup of flour, cooking oil, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Beat at low speed until blended.
- Beat on high speed for 3 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally.
- By hand, stir in the remaining flour.
- Knead the dough for 1 minute.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
