Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 teaspoon brandy (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix margarine, granulated sugar, egg yolks, brandy (if using), cloves, and vanilla until thoroughly combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, blend all-purpose flour and baking powder, then stir into the butter mixture.
  4. Mix well until dough is smooth.
  5. Shape the dough into 3/4-inch balls or form into 2-inch half-moon shapes.
  6. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes, ensuring they do not brown.
  7. Allow cookies to cool for 2 minutes, then remove from the sheet and dust with confectioners sugar.
