Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 6 tablespoons margarine, divided
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 (10 oz.) packages frozen chopped broccoli
  • 1 (6 oz.) jar Cheez Whiz
  • 1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion in 4 tablespoons of margarine in a large heavy skillet over medium heat.
  2. Stir in flour and add water, then cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
  3. Cook frozen chopped broccoli according to package directions; drain well.
  4. Add cooked broccoli and both cheeses to the sauce mixture.
  5. Stir in well beaten eggs.
  6. Pour the mixture into a buttered flat or oblong baking dish.
  7. Use the remaining margarine to butter cracker crumbs for the topping.
  8. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
