Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. bacon chopped
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup catsup
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 tsp. molasses
  • 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 16 oz. can butter beans drained
  • 16 oz. kidney beans drained
  • 31 oz. pork and beans with liquid

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until crispy, then drain the fat.
  2. Brown the ground beef in the bacon drippings.
  3. Sauté chopped onion with the beef until translucent.
  4. Transfer the beef and onion mixture to a 3-4 quart baking dish.
  5. Stir in the sugar, brown sugar, catsup, BBQ sauce, dry mustard, molasses, chili powder, and pepper.
  6. Add the drained butter beans, kidney beans, and pork and beans with liquid to the mixture.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 2 hours.
