4 Layer Jam Cake

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 4 c. plain flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 2 c. blackberry jam
  • 1 c. strawberry jam
  • 1 c. pear preserves
  • 2 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix eggs, sugar, buttermilk and butter together.
  2. Add soda and spices.
  3. Add flour; mix well.
  4. Add raisins, fruit and nuts.
  5. Put into four 9-inch round pans (greased and floured lightly).
  6. Bake slowly at 275° until fluffy.
