Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. extra sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup green pepper, minced
  • 2 oz. can pimientos, chopped
  • 2 dashes thick steak sauce
  • 1/2 cup pecans or dried parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Shred the cheddar cheese while cold, then allow it to come to room temperature.
  2. Beat the shredded cheese with softened cream cheese until well blended.
  3. Add minced onion, green pepper, chopped pimientos, steak sauce, and chopped pecans or parsley to the cheese mixture and mix well.
  4. Chill the mixture until firm enough to handle.
  5. Form the chilled mixture into a ball and roll in chopped pecans or dried parsley.
  6. Best if made 24 hours in advance to allow flavors to meld.
