Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cinnamon, and allspice in a bowl.
  2. Stir the dry ingredients gently to mix.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine eggs, apple pie filling, almond extract, oil, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  5. Stir in the chopped dates and walnuts.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 to 40 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
