Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Wesson oil
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup prunes, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Mix oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla together.
  2. Sift flour with salt, soda, cinnamon, and allspice.
  3. Add alternately with buttermilk to the first mixture, mixing well.
  4. Add chopped prunes and pecans to the batter.
  5. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
  6. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 hour until the cake tests done.
  7. Cool in the pan before removing.
