A hearty beef stew with tender round steak, savory tomato sauce, and vegetables, perfect for comforting family dinners and satisfying meat lovers.

Ingredients

  • Round steak
  • Garlic salt
  • Flour
  • Chopped celery
  • Chopped onion
  • Tomato paste or sauce
  • Small can of mushrooms
  • Pepper
  • Can of peas

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle round steak with garlic salt and pepper to taste. Cut steak into serving pieces and roll in flour.
  2. Fry the coated steak in a little oil until browned.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet. Add 3 or 4 tablespoons of flour to the skillet to absorb grease and brown slightly.
  4. Add 1 cup water and 1 can of tomato paste or sauce to the skillet.
  5. Stir in chopped celery, onions, and small can of mushrooms.
  6. Return the browned steak to the skillet and simmer until the meat is tender.
  7. Add a can of peas and cook a few more minutes before serving.
