Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 pound beef, browned
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, dry yeast, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Heat sour cream, water, and shortening until warm.
  3. Add beaten egg to the mixture and stir until smooth.
  4. Spread the batter into a greased 10-inch pie pan.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine browned beef, salt, pepper, chopped onion, Italian seasoning, and tomato paste.
  6. Spoon the beef mixture onto the batter in the pie pan.
  7. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese and add sliced mushrooms if desired.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30 to 35 minutes.
  9. Cut into wedges and serve.
