Bacon & Egg Lasagna
A hearty baked lasagna layered with crispy bacon, tender eggs, Swiss cheese, and a creamy white sauce, perfect for comforting family dinners or special gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. sliced bacon, diced ⓘ
- 1 large onion, chopped ⓘ
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour ⓘ
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
- 4 cups milk ⓘ
- 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained ⓘ
- 12 hard-cooked eggs, sliced ⓘ
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese ⓘ
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley ⓘ
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook diced bacon until crisp.
- Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Reserve 1/3 cup of bacon drippings in the skillet.
- In the drippings, sauté chopped onion until tender.
- Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until blended.
- Gradually stir in milk, bringing to a boil.
- Cook and stir for 2 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and set aside.
- Spread 1/2 cup of the sauce in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.
- Layer with four cooked lasagna noodles.
- Add a third of the sliced eggs, bacon, shredded Swiss cheese, and white sauce.
- Repeat the layering two more times.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes or until bubbly.
- Sprinkle with minced fresh parsley.
- Let stand for 15 minutes before cutting and serving.
