Ingredients

  • 3 frying chickens, cut up
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • salt to taste
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. celery salt
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. lemon juice
  • 1 c. catsup

Instructions

  1. In a skillet with a little oleo, sauté diced onion until soft.
  2. Add vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, water, salt, cayenne pepper, dry mustard, celery salt, brown sugar, lemon juice, and catsup to the onion and simmer for 30 minutes.
  3. Place the cut-up chickens in a roasting or broiler pan and pour the prepared liquid mixture over all.
  4. Cover the pan and bake in a 325°F oven for 1 1/2 hours or until the chicken is done.
