Ingredients

  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (approximately 2 lb.) fish (mackerel or whitefish)
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1 cup buttered bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Put the diced carrots, diced celery, diced onions, mashed garlic, and milk into a casserole.
  2. Have the fish cleaned and dip into melted butter. Place the fish over the vegetables and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix the bread crumbs with the remaining melted butter and spread over the top of the casserole.
  4. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F, tightly covered, for 45 minutes.
