Ingredients

  • 4 whitefish fillets (1 1/2 lb.)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 8 oz. small cooked shrimp
  • 3/4 cup shredded Provolone and Mozzarella cheese
  • chopped fresh basil or parsley
  • lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse the whitefish fillets and pat dry.
  2. Use tweezers to remove visible bones from the ridge of each fillet.
  3. Melt butter in a shallow baking dish.
  4. Place the fillets in the dish.
  5. Sprinkle the fillets with lemon juice and salt.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes until the fish flakes easily.
  7. Pour whipping cream into a saucepan and heat to boiling.
  8. Simmer the cream until reduced to about 3/4 cup.
  9. Sprinkle the cooked shrimp over the baked fish.
  10. Pour the hot cream evenly over the fish and shrimp.
  11. Sprinkle shredded Provolone and Mozzarella cheese over the top.
  12. Broil 3 to 4 inches from the heat until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
  13. Sprinkle chopped fresh basil or parsley over the top.
  14. Serve with lemon wedges.
