Instructions
- Dissolve lime jello and salt into 2 cups boiling water.
- Drain and reserve juice from crushed pineapple.
- Combine the reserved pineapple juice with enough water to make 2 cups.
- Add the pineapple juice mixture to the jello and chill until slightly thickened.
- Whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the whipped cream into the partially set jello with sugar and drained pineapple.
- Chill the mixture until firm.
- If desired, fold in chopped nuts and chopped cherries before serving.
