A refreshing lime Bavarian salad featuring tangy lime flavor, pineapple, and whipped cream, perfect for light desserts or summer gatherings with a creamy, fruity taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 large box lime jello
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 c boiling water
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
  • reserved pineapple juice
  • 2 c cream
  • 6 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 c chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve lime jello and salt into 2 cups boiling water.
  2. Drain and reserve juice from crushed pineapple.
  3. Combine the reserved pineapple juice with enough water to make 2 cups.
  4. Add the pineapple juice mixture to the jello and chill until slightly thickened.
  5. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold the whipped cream into the partially set jello with sugar and drained pineapple.
  7. Chill the mixture until firm.
  8. If desired, fold in chopped nuts and chopped cherries before serving.
