Ingredients

  • 5 lb. hamburger or roast beef
  • 5 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3 tsp. chili pepper
  • 6 Tbsp. Worcestershire
  • 2 c. celery, chopped
  • 2 large cans tomato sauce
  • 1 bottle barbecue sauce
  • 5 onions, chopped
  • 4 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook beef or roast beef and drain off excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onions, celery, tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire, vinegar, brown sugar, chili pepper, garlic powder, mustard, salt, and pepper to the meat.
  3. Cook the mixture for about 3 hours.
  4. If using roast beef, chop it after cooking.
  5. Use ground chuck and cook in a crock-pot on high.
  6. Serve the barbecue mixture on buns.
