- Wash and pick over the navy beans.
- Put the beans, water, chopped onion, and salt in an electric bean pot.
- Mix well to combine.
- Cover with a lid and cook overnight, for about 9 to 10 hours.
- Drain the beans, leaving as much liquid as desired.
- Add the remaining ingredients: bacon, maple syrup, brown sugar, dry mustard, catsup, Worcestershire, vinegar, and Tabasco sauce.
- Cook for an additional 1 to 2 hours until heated through and flavors meld.
