Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped green pepper
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (16 oz.) can red beans, drained

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape into 6 patties, 1/2-inch thick.
  3. Place in a small skillet and cook on both sides until done.
  4. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Combine catsup, chili powder, beans, onion, and green pepper in a small saucepan.
  6. Simmer 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Place a beef patty on the bottom half of each hamburger bun.
  9. Top each patty with 3 to 4 tablespoons of hot bean sauce.
  10. Cover with bun tops.
