Ingredients

  • 1 cut-up fryer
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 stick melted margarine

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, and onion powder in a bowl.
  2. Dip the chicken pieces in buttermilk, then coat thoroughly with the dry mixture.
  3. Pour melted margarine into a baking dish and place the coated chicken in the dish, turning to coat with butter.
  4. Arrange the chicken, skin side down, in a single layer in the dish.
  5. Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes.
  6. Turn the chicken and bake for another 30 minutes or until tender and cooked through.
