Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. extra lean ground beef
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) package noodles, cooked and drained
  • grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet until beef is browned.
  2. Add salt, pepper, oregano, and tomato sauce to the skillet and simmer slowly.
  3. In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and chopped green pepper.
  4. Place half of the cooked and drained noodles in the bottom of a greased 3-quart casserole dish.
  5. Spread the cheese mixture over the noodles.
  6. Add the remaining noodles on top of the cheese mixture.
  7. Pour the meat mixture over the noodles and cheese layers.
  8. Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and let brown slightly before serving.
