Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 lb beef stew meat
  • 4 or 5 potatoes
  • 2 or 3 stalks celery
  • 5 or 6 carrots
  • 1 green pepper
  • lots of onion
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can tomato sauce (large size)

Instructions

  1. Wash the beef stew meat and place it in a 9 x 12-inch cake pan.
  2. Slice the potatoes, celery, carrots, green pepper, and onion on top of the meat.
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the large can of tomato sauce over all the ingredients.
  5. Seal the pan with aluminum foil.
  6. Cook in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 4 to 5 hours.
