Beer Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. beef stew meat, cubed
  • flour
  • 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 (12 oz.) bottle beer
  • 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 to 3 carrots, sliced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 or 4 potatoes, diced

Instructions

  1. Roll beef in flour. Brown in oil in Dutch oven. Add onion, garlic and salt. Saute. Add beer, mushrooms, carrots and bay leaf. Cover and simmer slowly 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Add potatoes and peas last 1/2 hour.
