Ingredients

  • 1 (8-inch) round loaf sourdough bread
  • 2 tsp. prepared horseradish or honey mustard
  • 0.25 lb. thinly sliced roast beef
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 0.25 lb. thinly sliced ham
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and drained
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 0.5 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. toasted sesame seed
  • 1/8 tsp. onion powder

Instructions

  1. Slice the sourdough bread horizontally into 6 equal layers using an electric or serrated knife.
  2. Spread horseradish or honey mustard on the first bread layer, then top with roast beef and place the second bread layer on top.
  3. Spread mayonnaise on the second layer, add Swiss cheese, and then place the third bread layer.
  4. Spread mustard on the third layer, then add ham, and cover with the fourth bread layer.
  5. Cover the fourth layer with tomato slices, cooked bacon, then add the fifth bread layer.
  6. Top the fifth layer with American cheese and sliced onion, then place the remaining bread layer on top.
  7. Combine the remaining butter, toasted sesame seed, and onion powder. Spread this mixture over the top and sides of the assembled loaf.
  8. Place the loaf on a cookie sheet and bake uncovered at 400°F for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven, slice into wedges, and serve.
