Ingredients

  • 2 lb. stew beef
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 large green pepper
  • fresh mushrooms
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 c. water

Instructions

  1. Salt and pepper the stew beef; coat in flour.
  2. Brown the stew beef in oil and place in a 9 x 13-inch dish sprayed with Pam.
  3. Saute the diced onions and green pepper in butter.
  4. Layer the sauteed onions, peppers, and mushrooms over the beef.
  5. Combine Worcestershire sauce, molasses, ketchup, vinegar, paprika, and water into a sauce.
  6. Mix the sauce well and pour over the layered ingredients.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake at 300°F for 3 hours.
  8. Check at 1 to 2 hours to see if additional water is needed.
