Ingredients

  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. oil
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. black walnuts

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, oil, and hot water in a bowl.
  2. Let the mixture cool before proceeding.
  3. Add eggs, flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and vanilla to the cooled mixture; stir until well blended.
  4. Pour batter onto a greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, let cool, then spread with cream cheese frosting.
