Ingredients

  • 1 lb. flaked blue crab meat
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped bell pepper
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 2 c. crushed cracker crumbs
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. melted margarine
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Remove remaining shell and cartilage from crab meat.
  2. Cook bacon until crisp; crumble and set aside.
  3. Saute chopped onion, celery, bell pepper, and minced garlic in bacon grease until tender.
  4. Mix crushed cracker crumbs, dry mustard, salt, chopped parsley, cayenne pepper, beaten egg, milk, melted margarine, Worcestershire sauce, and the sautéed vegetables.
  5. Fold in the flaked blue crab meat gently.
  6. Transfer mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25-30 minutes until heated through and golden on top.
