Ingredients

  • 6 to 8 pork chops
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3 onions, sliced
  • 6 to 8 potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 2 c. chicken stock
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. water

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Brown the pork chops on both sides until golden, then transfer to a roasting pan.
  4. Add sliced onions and peeled, sliced potatoes to the pan.
  5. Pour chicken stock over the ingredients in the roasting pan.
  6. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour or until the pork is tender.
  8. Mix flour with cold water to make a slurry, then stir into the braising liquid to thicken sauce if desired.
  9. Serve hot with the cooked vegetables and sauce.
