- Trim off large leaves and tough ends of broccoli.
- Wash and separate broccoli into spears.
- Cook broccoli in boiling water for 10 minutes or until tender.
- Arrange broccoli spears in a greased 2-quart baking dish.
- Top with chopped hard-cooked eggs and sliced Cheddar cheese.
- Melt 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan over low heat; add flour and stir until smooth.
- Cook the mixture for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually add milk, cooking over medium heat and stirring until thickened and bubbly.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce and salt.
- Pour the sauce over the broccoli mixture.
- Melt remaining 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan and stir in dry breadcrumbs.
- Brown the breadcrumb mixture lightly and sprinkle over the sauce.
- Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes.
