- Broil spareribs in the broiler oven until golden brown on both sides.
- Meanwhile, combine water, cider vinegar, minced garlic, chopped onion, butter, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, sugar, ketchup, salt, and pepper in a large pan and boil for 10 minutes uncovered.
- Place the broiled ribs in an uncovered roaster pan and pour some of the sauce over them.
- Bake in a hot 450°F oven for 1 hour, basting every 10 minutes with the remaining boiling sauce.
