Ingredients

  • 3 lb. spareribs
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 c. cider vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/2 c. butter or oleo
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Instructions

  1. Broil spareribs in the broiler oven until golden brown on both sides.
  2. Meanwhile, combine water, cider vinegar, minced garlic, chopped onion, butter, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, sugar, ketchup, salt, and pepper in a large pan and boil for 10 minutes uncovered.
  3. Place the broiled ribs in an uncovered roaster pan and pour some of the sauce over them.
  4. Bake in a hot 450°F oven for 1 hour, basting every 10 minutes with the remaining boiling sauce.
