Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix melted butter and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, and mix well.
  4. Stir in flour, baking powder, cocoa, and salt until just combined.
  5. Fold in chopped nuts.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
