Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. rolled oats
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream together shortening and sugars.
  2. Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
  3. Mix flour, soda, salt, and baking powder together and add to sugar mixture.
  4. Mix in oatmeal, vanilla, chocolate chips, and nuts.
  5. Drop spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet and bake for 6 minutes at 350°F.
