Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 c. oatmeal
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream together the shortening and sugars.
  2. Mix eggs, flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder into the creamed mixture.
  3. Add oatmeal, chocolate chips, and vanilla, and mix well.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 350°F until light brown, about 15 minutes.
