Ingredients

  • 10 oz. frozen chopped spinach
  • 4 English muffins
  • 1 slice white bread
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. grated onion
  • 4 oz. mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the spinach as label directs; drain well about 40 minutes before serving.
  2. Toast English muffins and keep warm.
  3. Preheat broiler if manufacturer directs.
  4. Tear the bread into small pieces and place in a bowl.
  5. Add the cooked spinach, ground beef, egg, salt, and grated onion to the bowl.
  6. Mix well and shape the mixture into four 1-inch thick round patties.
  7. Place the patties on a rack in a broiling pan.
  8. Broil the patties about 5 minutes on each side for medium or until of desired doneness.
  9. Just before the patties are done, cut the mozzarella cheese into 4 slices.
  10. Top each meat patty with a cheese slice and broil for 1 minute longer until the cheese melts.
