Ingredients

  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 medium head cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp imitation butter flavored salt
  • 2 cups stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until crispy; drain and crumble.
  2. Combine bacon, cabbage, green pepper, onion, celery, and salt in a saucepan and heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Add stewed tomatoes and mushrooms if desired; continue cooking until mixture is slightly thickened and tender.
