Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup diced green pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups finely shredded cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. In a large soup pot, saute green pepper, celery, onion, and parsley in 2 tablespoons butter until soft.
  2. Add cooked ham and cook until heated through.
  3. Blend flour with chicken broth in a bowl and add to the ham mixture.
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then decrease to low heat and simmer.
  5. Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter in a pan.
  6. Add cabbage and water, then cook until soft.
  7. Add cooked cabbage to the broth mixture and cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish each serving with sour cream.
