Cabbage roll-ups feature tender cabbage leaves filled with savory ground beef mixture, baked with beef broth for a hearty, comforting dish perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 8 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can condensed beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Trim the base of each cabbage and carefully remove 8 whole leaves, saving remaining cabbage for other uses.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, oats, chopped onion, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper to make the filling.
  3. Place a portion of the filling onto each cabbage leaf and roll up securely.
  4. Arrange the cabbage roll-ups seam-side down in a baking dish.
  5. Pour condensed beef broth over the roll-ups.
  6. Dot with butter or margarine on top.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour, until cooked through and tender.
