Ingredients

  • 10 lb. ground beef
  • 4 c. oatmeal
  • 4 c. milk
  • 1 c. ketchup
  • 3 to 4 eggs
  • 1/4 c. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. sage
  • 2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix together ground beef, oatmeal, milk, ketchup, eggs, salt, mustard, oregano, sage, seasoned salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Wet your hands to make handling easier, then shape the mixture into meatballs.
  3. Fry the meatballs until browned all over.
  4. Make a brown pan gravy from the drippings or additional ingredients as desired.
  5. Pour the gravy over the meatballs in a jar.
  6. Cold pack the jar for 2 hours or process in a pressure canner at 10 pounds pressure for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
