Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoon flour
  • 4 teaspoon chili powder or less
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 oz.) can chili beans
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese
  • 7 oz. tortilla chips
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon jalapeno peppers

Instructions

  1. Cook and drain ground chuck.
  2. Add chopped onion, salt, flour, chili powder, tomato sauce, chili beans, evaporated milk, cream cheese, and jalapeno peppers to the meat.
  3. Cook until the cream cheese melts and mixture is heated through.
  4. Crush tortilla chips and cover the bottom of the casserole dish with them.
  5. Pour the meat mixture over the crushed chips.
  6. Sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with additional chips and jalapeno peppers before serving.
