Ingredients

  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. quick cooking rolled oats
  • 1/2 c. coconut
  • 1/2 c. sunflower nuts
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/3 c. wheat germ
  • 2 Tbsp. sesame seed
  • 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate or carob chips

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, peanut butter, corn syrup, margarine, and vanilla; blend well.
  4. Stir in quick cooking rolled oats, coconut, sunflower nuts, raisins, wheat germ, sesame seed, and chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Press mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
  7. Cool completely in the pan.
  8. Cut into bars and serve.
