Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup uncooked regular rice
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 (2.8 oz.) can Durkee French fried onions
  • 4 chicken breast halves, fat trimmed and skinned if desired
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 2 1/2 cups cubed cooked chicken
  • 2 cups cooked long grain rice
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 (16 oz.) package frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of celery soup
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, stir together cooked chicken, cooked long grain rice, green pepper, spaghetti sauce, water, milk, frozen mixed vegetables, cream of celery soup, cream of mushroom soup, pepper, and uncooked rice.
  3. Spoon the mixture into a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle with French fried onions and chow mein noodles.
  6. Continue baking for an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until heated through and bubbly.
