Chicken With Plums

Ingredients
- 2 fryer chickens, cut into quarters ⓘ
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 (16 oz.) cans plums, pitted and drained ⓘ
- 2 cups red wine ⓘ
- 1/4 cup minced onion ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar ⓘ
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch ⓘ
- 4 minced garlic cloves ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 8 whole cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper ⓘ
Instructions
- Skin the chicken and coat it with flour.
- Brown the chicken in a skillet, then place it in a baking dish.
- Combine the remaining ingredients: plums, red wine, minced onion, white vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, salt, cloves, ginger, dry mustard, oregano, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the chicken.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes.
