Ingredients

  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin seed
  • 3 dashes Tabasco
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Cook beef, green pepper, onion, and garlic in oil until beef is slightly browned.
  2. Add all ingredients except beans and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes.
  3. Stir in undrained pinto beans.
  4. Simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
  5. For a thinner mixture, add hot water as needed.
