Chili-Mac Skillet

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef ⓘ
- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 (15 1/2 oz) can red kidney beans, drained ⓘ
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce ⓘ
- 1 (7 1/2 oz) can tomatoes, cut up ⓘ
- 1/2 cup elbow macaroni ⓘ
- 2 to 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 (4 oz) can diced green chili peppers, drained ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt ⓘ
- 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Cheddar cheese ⓘ
Instructions
- Drain the kidney beans.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the meat is browned.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet.
- Stir in the drained beans, tomato sauce, undrained tomatoes, uncooked elbow macaroni, drained green chili peppers, chili powder, garlic salt, and 1/4 cup water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
- Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, then cover and heat for 2 minutes or until the cheese melts.
